CHARITON COUNTY CARES ACT FUNDING

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed on March 27, 2020, and signed by President Trump, established and appropriated $150 billion to the Coronavirus Relief Fund. This fund is to be used to make payments for specified uses to states and certain local governments. The State of Missouri received approximately $2.3 billion of this fund and Chariton County’s share was $871,218. Chariton County will use the guidelines provided by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the State of Missouri in making awards of the funds received under the CARES Act. Phase one of applications includes public entities/political subdivisions of Chariton County. Phase two of applications includes businesses and non-profits of Chariton County.
